Fri 9/25 6:30-8pm - S’mores and Sports in the OLSH back parking lot (3148 Abbott Rd)
Hot dog dinner, yard games, bonfire, glow in the dark capture the flag. Open to all ages & grades. Middle and high school can be dropped off and signed in/out. Friends are welcome – it’s always fun to run around in the dark! Event is rain or shine – if raining we will be in gym and cafeteria. RSVP to Mrs. Sarah [email protected]
High School Youth Nights at St. Bernadette in Orchard Park (5930 S Abbott Rd)
Held every other Wednesday 7-9pm
9/23, 10/7, 10/21, 11/4, 11/18, 12/2, 12/16
Join other Catholic teens from the area at St. Bernadette’s for brief discussion/topic, snacks and games. Group meets every other Wednesday in the school building, door 3 – enter from back parking lot. Open to 9th-12th grade.
Wed, Oct 7th 6-8pm Middle School/High School Service Night – Grace Guest House
Help families and patients receiving medical treatments locally by raking leaves, cleaning and organizing at Grace Guest House in South Buffalo. Grace is an amazing place those coming from out of town for medical treatments can stay more affordably and comfortably than hotels. We can only take a certain number of volunteers so be sure to RSVP to Mrs. Sarah at [email protected]
Sat, Oct 17th 5:30-8:00pm HALLOWEEN PARTY at OLSH
$5pp Friends and Community are Invited! Spread the Word!! DJ, haunted house room, games, costume and other contests, hot dog and pizza dinner and dessert. All ages welcome. Come have fun!!
If you are also interested in service hours, we need help setting up/decorating Fri 10/16 6:30-8:30pm, cleaning up afterwards, as well as help running some of the games for younger kids during the event. Please contact Mrs. Sarah [email protected] to sign up to volunteer. No RSVP needed to attend.
Sat. Nov 14th 3:30-6:30pm Egg Roll Cooking Class!
Have you ever wanted to learn to make egg rolls? Join us while the Tran Family from our parish leads us in a fun lesson. All materials and instruction provided. RSVP is required. Open to all ages. Families welcome. Middle and high schoolers can be dropped off and signed in and out. Session will include a break for 4:30pm Mass while we fry them up, then all return to eat together. RSVP to Mrs. Sarah [email protected].
Sun. Nov 22nd 6:30-8:30pm ORCHARD PARK AREA MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH NIGHT held at Orchard Park Wesleyan
Youth ministry leaders from various Christian and Catholic churches, including OLSH, St. Bernadette’s, Nativity, OP Wesleyan, & OP Presbyterian have been meeting to plan a fun night to gather all our youth to meet new people, play games, join with other people you may go to school with, and form friendships in faith. Evening will be low-key and fun. BRING FRIENDS! We hope to begin this gathering once/quarter. RSVP is helpful for food planning purposes but not required. Sat. Dec 12th Christmas Caroling and Party 2-5pm
Share Jesus’ love! Come sing carols with us at Autumnview Nursing Home then head back to the Parish Center for pizza, desserts and games. RSVP to Mrs. Sarah [email protected].
UPCOMING FUTURE SERVICE OPPORTUNITY FOR MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOLERS – INTEREST NEEDED!
We would like to commit to serve meals at Genesis Center on Seneca St. in South Buffalo one Monday/month 3:45-6pm. You serve as waitstaff/hosts to the guests coming to dine. If you are able to be dropped off there and are interested in this either as a one-time thing, during a certain season, or every month, please contact Mrs. Sarah [email protected]. Parents are welcome to stay and serve as well if interested.
