What is Christ Renews His Parish? Christ Renews His Parish, aka CRHP, is a renewal process which calls together members of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart to experience Christian community right here in our own parish buildings.
CRHP was started by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops in 1969. Parishes across the United States have been experiencing this spiritual growth ever since. It stresses a clear focus of the Gospel, the Good News of Jesus Christ. It emphasizes continued growth in the Christian life through our daily interaction with others The renewal weekend is a wonderful opportunity to take a break from the typical routine to relax, pray, share, and most importantly, invite Jesus to be at the center of a Spirit-filled community and Your Life! You will listen to a number of individuals who have volunteered to give a witness to the Power of Jesus Christ in their lives. Group discussions and responses follow each presentation. Sacraments are an integral part of the weekend. There will be readings from Scripture, time for prayer, and time for personal reflection. The weekend will conclude with a private Mass on Sunday. Who May Attend?
Any parishioner, 19 years or older, is welcome! Christ Renews His Parish is for anyone seeking spiritual renewal. You do not have to be a spiritual person to attend the retreat. In fact many people attend because they are not as spiritual as they would like to be. All participants will be welcomed and received with unconditional acceptance.
What Does It Cost?
How does FREE sound? There is no charge for attending the weekend! The weekend is put on by previous members of the CRHP program and runs solely on donations.
