"Those who sing pray twice"

Choir rehearsals begin the second week of September. We are always looking for new members. Please consider helping us out.  There are several options.

Adult Choir

The Adult Choir rehearses Wednesday nights in the church from 7:00 to 8:30, and sings at 10:30 mass. Our first rehearsal will be September 11. There is no audition required.

Children's
Choir

The Children’s Choir meets Thursdays from 4:30 to 5:30 and sings at 9:00 every other week. All children of the parish in grades 4 through 8 are welcome. Our first rehearsal is September 12.

Schola
Cantorum

This is small group that sings at noon mass. Membership in the Schola is by audition only. If you are interested in any of these ensembles please call Jean Tuohy at 646-1993. Join your voice with others as we sing our praises to God.

Maryann Grasso, guitarist and vocalist, has been playing regularly for parish liturgies at OLSH for over ten years. In addition to playing for regular weekend masses and holy days, Kate & Mary Ann GrassoMaryann works closely with Paula White to prepare music for the children’s Sacramental program (First Communion, First Penance, teaching masses.) She is currently a student at Erie Community College, and plans to become an optician. In addition to singing at OLSH, Kate sings with the Canisius College Chorale, under the direction of Frank Scinta.

Tim & MaryTim Weir, guitar and vocals, and his wife Mary Deney, Vocals, provide music for the 9:00 mass, and on holy days and other special occasions. They have been sharing their talents with us for over ten years. Tim and Mary live in West Seneca, with their son, Sean.

Michael Holmes has been serving our parish as cantor since September 2000. A 2001 graduate of Buffalo State College, he has a degree in broadcasting and works at WKBW (Channel 7) as a video producer. In addition to singing at OLSH, Michael sings with a barbershop quartet, the Syncopations, and studies voice with Thomas Witakoski.
